"The 'Your Life Counts for Kids' class of '09 was a blast!  For ten weeks we learned how to be good stewards of the time, talent and treasure that God has given each of us.  We read Bible verses, made crafts, looked at newspaper ads and had our own bank and store to put into practice what we talked about in class.  I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching these wonderful 2nd - 5th graders.  I hope the lessons they learned are seeds planted that will flourish.

Read what "Your Life Counts" Graduates have said about the study...

Brought me closer to God and Scripture.

The part I liked least about the class was that it ended!

Helped decrease my anxieties. Gave my struggles to the Lord. Realized the importance of Biblical study.

The part I liked least about the class was it ended just when bonds grew.

The Lord confirmed that He is in control. Through this class, my faith was strengthened when I was low in the level of faith and trust.

“I have had the privilege of teaching Your Life Counts for Kids this past fall [2008] to
2nd-5th graders. Five other volunteers and I taught the values of handling time, talent and
treasure God's way to 14 very entertaining children. After ten weeks, I asked the kids to
write down a few things they had learned in the class. Here are their answers, copied exactly
from their papers. I hope you enjoy their answers as well as I did.” - Karen Schubert

Workshops

  • Aug 2009

Hello, I attended the "I need a Job" workshop on Sat, Aug 15, 09 at Grace Church.
The workshop was excellent for the following reasons:
    1) We should work for a purpose other than compensation package.
    2) We should work within our "gifts and talents" ie our mind and skill set(s).
    3) Don't loose focus and perspective. Don't  focus on past failures or our current situation. Focus on this day forward.
    4) Take time to relax and allow your mind/ brain to clear itself of clutter and confusion.

CATHY: We were married in May 2007. I left Connecticut and moved to Wentzville, leaving behind my entire life, to be with my new husband. This was my first marriage. I had waited patiently for half a lifetime for God to bless me with the right man. Soon after I arrived in Missouri, we began to have extreme difficulty when we discussed our finances, including the outstanding bills. The bills were not a surprise to me because prior to our engagement, Ed had told me about his debt.

My husband and I have been married for 24 years. For all of those years, we struggled financially to make ends meet between being homeowners and raising our family of 3 children. I worked from home as a medical transcriptionist and John worked for small companies in the auto glass and woodworking businesses. My desire from early on was to be able to stay home with my children, which I was so grateful that God allowed me to do this.
